What Is Cancer?

Cancer cells develop in the body as a result of damage to cellular DNA, which destroys the control mechanism of cell replication. Such abnormal cells are constantly created in the body during one’s lifetime, but the body has various means to find and destroy these cells. Unfortunately, abnormal cells sometimes escape destruction and begin to multiply rapidly and grow into tumors. A tumor confined to one location in the body rarely endangers a person’s life. However, approximately 90% of all cancer fatalities result from metastasis, the invasion of cancer cells into other organs and tissues. To facilitate their invasion into body organs, cancer cells secrete enzymes that digest the surrounding connective tissue. The disintegration of connective tissue allows cancer cells to spread and invade other body organs.

How Cancer Spreads

Cells are surrounded by collagen and connective tissue. In order to grow and expand, healthy cells need to break down the extracellular barrier that confines them. This process is essential for life and, for this reason, cells produce and secrete various enzymes that digest connective tissue components, including collagen and elastin. It is important that these enzymes, called metalloproteinases or MMPs, be regulated by sets of activators and inhibitors so that the integrity of the connective tissue is never compromised. Excessive disintegration of connective tissue accompanies pathology and once this disintegration occurs, infectious microbes (including viruses) can invade tissues. In extreme cases, such as in cancer, the excessive production of digestive enzymes and the disintegration of collagen and connective tissue by cancer cells are the dangerous mechanisms by which these cells invade and spread to other organs. Certain nutrients, including L-lysine, are powerful natural inhibitors of collagen-digesting enzymes. It is Dr. Rath‘s discovery that has put the Dr. Rath Research Institute on the path to defeating this devastating disease.

The spread of cancer can be blocked in a natural way

Based on the concept of Dr. Rath's Cellular Medicine, we have developed cellular nutrient synergies to control the invasion of cancer cells in the body. Lysine and vitamin C are on the one hand strong natural inhibitors of the collagen digesting enzymes and on the other hand they play an important role in the optimal production and function of collagen. Part of this synergy team are also the amino acid proline, Epigallo-catechin gallate, and other cell altnutrients. The critical components in the inhibition of cancer invasion are lysine and vitamin C (ascorbic acid), which, although essential, can not be produced by the human body. A chronic lack of lysine and vitamin C may explain how the progression of cancer as a result of such a cellular nutrient deficit can be facilitated, particularly if the defect occurs during the critical stages of initiation and propagation.

To this purpose, our scientists used special containers, the contents in the middle were separated by a collagen matrix. This corresponded to the connective tissue in the body. In the upper part of the containers they bred cancer cells that were able to digest the collagen matrix and to migrate into the lower part of the container. One half of the containers was filled with a nutrient solution containing the appropriate cellular nutrients, that are able to block cancer cells.

The second half of the containers contained, as control, only the nutrient solution - without the appropriate cellular nutrients for the blockade of cancer cells. The results of the experiment were astounding. A special combination of nutrients inhibited the cancer cells from migrating through the collagen matrix! The most powerful nutrient combination contained vitamin C, the amino acid lysine and proline, as well as a specific component of green tea (polyphenols).

The cancer research team at our research institute in the U.S. has studied extensively the mechanism, how the migration of cancer cells through collagen and connectiv tissue can be inhibited in a natural way. Our scientists have developed a unique experimental arrangement, under which they initially investigated the metabolism mechanism of cancer cells, that destroys the collagen matrix. Subsequently, this experiment was used to identify those natural substances, in addition to vitamin C, lysine and proline that are able to block the spread of cancer cells.

Scientific experiments conducted by the Dr. Rath Research Institute research team involved the use of cancer cells, nutrients, and collagen. Cancer cells in Vial A not incubated with vitamin C, L-lysine,

L-proline, and EGCG were able to pass through the collagen matrix. Cancer cells in Vial B incubated with vitamin C, L-lysine, L-proline, and EGCG were unable to pass through the collagen matrix. The results of the experiment were remarkable. A simple combination of nutrients was able to stop cancer cells from invading the collagen matrix! The most powerful nutrient combination contained vitamin C, the amino acids L-lysine and L-proline, and a polyphenol fraction of green tea known as Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG).


 The way these nutrients work

Our research showed that the nutrient combination of vitamin C, lysine, proline and polyphenol inhibit collagen digesting enzymes, that help cancer cells spread in the body tissue. Our scientists also demonstrated that the blockade of the cancer spread is directly associated with the blockade of collagen digesting enzymes by the tested cellular nutrients. In other words, the by Dr. Rath identified mechanism of cancer spread is the decisive breakthrough in the blockade of cancer!

Cellular nutrient synergy act in:

1. Natural strengthening and building of healthy extracellular matrix: The optimum production and structure of collagen and other components of the extracellular matrix is crucial for the stability of cellular metabolism and for a controlled cell growth. Vitamin C is important for the production of collagen and desdanz, as it neutralizes free radicals and protects cell structures from damage. The amino acids lysine and proline are the building blocks of collagen, they make around one third of all amino acids in the collagen. The vitamin C-dependent hydroxylation of these amino acids is of crucial importance for the maintenance of an optimum collagen formation.


2. Natural selective destruction of cancer cells: many cellular nutrients are able to introduce the programmed death of cancer cells (apoptosis). They act as selective cancer toxins without affecting normal, healthy cells. The best known and most thoroughly explored example is vitamin C and its derivate such as ascorbyl palmitate.


3. Preventing the formation of blood vessels in tumors: A tumor with a diameter of more than 0.5 mm has no chance of survival, if he is not developing its own blood vessels to get nutrients and remove waste products resulting from the metabolism. New blood vessels develop from endothelial cells that migrate and proliferate to form a new structure. A synergy of cellular nutrients can effectively inhibit in case of secretion of endothelial growth factors by various cancer cells.

Conclusion

Cellular nutrient synergy  can suppress the formation of new blood vessels by controlling the critical steps in this process. The importance for health is clear: If no more blood vessels are formed in a tumor, it dies.
